We are delighted to re-introduce the Chiswick Half Marathon and 10km run!

Chiswick is situated in West London, not far from Hammersmith with easy access to the A4/M4.

Before introducing our epic obstacle events, the Rough Runner founders organised 10km and half marathon runs, and in March 2018 will be returning to the beautiful Chiswick House to do it all again!

Both the half and the 10km take place on a stunning route hugging the Thames the whole way through. Which means less road-running, and more eye-catching scenery and a feeling of escaping the city.

The route leaves Chiswick House and runs along a fabulous path beside the River Thames towards Putney along the North Bank, crossing to the South Bank and heading back towards either Barnes Bridge or Chiswick Bridge depending on the length of the route you decide to take.

It’s also the perfect time to run if you’re training for the London marathon, or even Brighton, Manchester or Boston marathons! Any marathon training plan will include a half marathon run at 10-12 weeks. This is yours!

And if you have supporters or kids in tow, all the better. We’ll have a festival village on site with games and activities to keep everyone entertained, as well as a bar to treat yourself to a well-earned drink at the end of the run!

So grab yourself a ticket while they’re at the lowest price – they rise every month in the run up to the event which means you don’t want to hang about! And tickets are limited.

The event is open for all, whether you’re a seasoned runner or just wanting a run to train for. You can even part walk it if you like!

Just like a plane or a train ticket, prices go up the closer we get to the event dates. You’ll save up to 40% by booking early so don’t miss out on a deal!

 Overview of the event

Overview

The half marathon and the 10km runs both take place on a stunning route hugging the Thames the whole way through.

If you are running the London Marathon, Brighton Marathon or event the Boston Marathon, this sits perfectly with the standard training plans, where you should be running a half marathon 10-12 weeks into your 16-17 week training plan.

And if you have supporters or kids in tow, all the better. We’ll have a festival village on site with games and activities to keep everyone entertained, as well as a bar to treat yourself to a well-earned drink at the end of the run!

Location

Chiswick House and Gardens
Burlington Lane, Chiswick,
London
W4 2QN

Prices

There is free access to the event for all spectators (except for parking costs if driving separately). We want to encourage our Roughians to bring their friends and families to see them at the finish line, and don’t feel the need to charge for a ticket just to enjoy the spectacle!

You’ll also get a free medal, but we won’t be throwing in a cheap cotton T-shirt – we dropped our ticket prices instead.

We do, however, have a much higher quality, sexy, technical T-shirt available for a mere £17.50, which you can get at the checkout when you buy your ticket. For those that miss the boat you can also get them on the day of the event, but expect to pay a little extra!

Details
  • If you want to find out what’s including in the price, just click on the “prices” tab.
  • Start times will be from 9am through to approx 1pm, and we will advise you of your start time a few weeks prior to the event date. Wo do this Rough Runner style, and instead of one mass start, we stagger the start times throughout the morning to minimise congestion on the route.
  • Please arrive on site around 1 hour prior to your start time, to get yourself registered, set up and ready to run!
  • For most, public transport will be the best means of getting there, however you can drive, where we recommend car sharing – so get some buddies together!

Things you’ll need to bring:

1. A print out of your ticket, a signed waiver (here), and photo ID. You can’t race without!

2. Cash for food and drinks on site – card payment machines out in the countryside can be temperamental. Car parking is £5 cash on the day.

3. Suitable clothing. This is up to you, but we’d suggest a warm change of clothes for after the event.

Otherwise just check back here in the run up to the event, or feel free to drop us a line here.
