Rough Runner’s heading to West London for the first time ever!!

6,500 Roughians nailed the Travelator last year at Finsbury Park, and another 6,000 at Morden Park, and we felt it was unfair for everyone in West London to miss out!

We know of no other event which brings a range of obstacles so massive, so ambitious, and so much fun right into our favourite London parks, so if you live or work in the capital, this is the perfect challenge for you.

We’ll be bringing the legendary Travelator with us to the doorstep of millions of Londoners, and giving you the opportunity to bring your favourite TV game show memories into reality.

Inspired by TV game shows like Total Wipeout, Gladiators, Takeshi’s Castle and Ninja Warrior, this is the only event that will give you the chance to take on a load of epic obstacles that you’ve only ever seen on screen and always wanted to try.

If you’ve always fancied taking part in one of our events, but getting there has been too much of a task, then this is the one for you.

If you want to see the rest of the obstacles you and the rest of your team will be up against, have a gander at the obstacles page.

Did we mention we have The Travelator?

Do it now. Regret it never.

The London Experience

Rough Runner South

Good fun day. Good balance between obstacles and running. Changing facilities could have been bigger though as you need to get out of your wet clothes as soon as possible on a cold day!

Rough Runner Steyning

Despite the chilly weather the event was great fun and extremely well organised. Every ability was catered for and the commentary at the top of the travelator was quite amusing!

True Roughian

Was looking forward for this event for months. Had a great team of people with me and the staff and organisation of the event made it glide smoothly during the day. Can’t wait to take part again next year. Hopefully they might arrange so that i can get a team of my school children involved.

Rough Runner South

Wow, what a great event. Set under the South Downs on the Wiston Estate it was a brilliant challenge. We took on the 15km distance and the 19 obstacles faced were such fun. We will definitely do another RR. Thank you.

Great event. Loved it. Earlier start times preferable.

Had an absolute blast and already booked up for next year. Would have been nice to have an earlier start time is my only feedback.

amazing experience

friends bought me a ticket for my birthday and we all went along for a bit of fun. my expectations were high but it still exceeded them. lots of laughs and stories to tell. would fully recommend anyone looking to try it out.

Rough Runner 2019 South

Cold day and cold wind which didn’t help when you get wet! But it was so much fun! The only complaint I would have is that the changing tent could have been slightly bigger. Don’t know what the men’s was like but the women’s was a bit too small.

Great fun

I’ll definitely be there next year

Really Fun Run @ Rough Runner

Had a great time running, jumping, climbing and getting wet !!
Great setting and the event was really well organised with the staff being super friendly. Only downside – it took a while for some to register, but had a great day and haven’t stopped telling my mates at work.

Highly recommend!

We had so much fun taking on the challenging obstacles between the 15km cross country run! The mechanical arms and big bouncy balls were the highlight… and watching everyone take on the travelator topped off the day! Met some lovely people & can’t wait to come back next year!!

Wet fun in the Park

Great fun, made me realize i need to up my game with my stamina and fitness!

I never thought I could do an obstacle event. I just proved to myself that I can.

Best thing I’ve ever done.

It was such a positive vibe – everyone was in it together and the feeling of group support was amazing

Awesome bonding.

Laughing at strangers isn’t supposed to be OK, but when they laugh back at you it makes a weird, awesome sort of bond!

Simply the best.

This was literally the best thing I’ve ever done. And I got to laugh at the rest of my team A LOT 🙂

The obstacles are so much fun, but they’re not easy! Actually feel pretty chuffed with myself right now.

I’ve been watching Gladiators and Wipeout for AGES. So this was a bit of a dream come true!

Recommend to anyone.

I did this with my son and a friend and his son in aid of Cancer Research. I cannot say how much fun we had. We enjoyed ourselves thorougly – i would recommend everyone give it a go.

Brilliant day out, well run, well marshalled and sign posted.

Great event.

What's Included
  • There is free access to the event for all spectators.
  • We want to encourage our Roughians to bring their friends and families to see them take on The Travelator at the finish line, and don’t feel the need to charge for a ticket just to enjoy the spectacle!
  • Free bag drop service.
  • You’ll also get a free medal.
  • Free Roughian wristband.

We don’t offer car parking at our Gunnersbury event – there are multiple options for public transport instead.

It’ll be tricky to find parking nearby, it’ll probably be expensive, and who wants to navigate weekend traffic in London anyway?

If you do need to drive, then you’ll simply have to find a parking meter or car park nearby.

For other transport options, check out the section on Getting There below, and you’ll see where to go and what to do!

  • If you want to find out what’s included in the price, just click on the “What’s Included” tab.
  • Start times will be from around 9am through to approx 3pm, and we will advise you of your start time about 7 – 10 days prior to the event date.
  • Please arrive on site around 1 hour prior to your start time, to get yourself registered, set up and ready to run!
  • Don’t be late! Check out the Getting there tab below!

Things you’ll need to bring:

1. A print out of your ticket, a signed waiver (Adult Waiver here), (Kids Waiver here), and photo ID. You can’t race without!

2. Cash for food and drinks on site – card payment machines outdoors can be temperamental.

3. Suitable clothing. This is up to you, but we’d suggest a warm change of clothes for after the event and gloves to use during (for all those nets and ropes). You will get muddy, and so will your trainers, so don’t wear anything you are particularly precious about!

Otherwise just check back here in the run up to the event, or feel free to drop us a line here.

Getting there

Best thing – check out on Google maps where the event is, or use the map higher up on this page.

By train, your best bet is Acton Town (Underground Station) on the Piccadilly/District Line – it’s a 10-minute walk.

Alternatively, Kew Bridge Station (serves both the District Line (Underground) and Overground (direct links to London Waterloo and Windsor) is a 12-minute walk.

By bus, there are a number of routes that will put you within throwing distance of the Park, but the closest are the E3 and H91 stops. Check the website and find the best for you.

Don’t forget to check transport times beforehand in case of a strike or disruption.
