We have the most epic finale of any sports event we’ve been to. The legendary Travelator takes centre stage in our Runners Village, so you can kick back with a drink and a bite to eat while watching thousands of runners take on the ultimate challenge! Faceplants and hilarious comperes included…
And not just that – in 2020 you can now drop your kids off at The Rascals Retreat Zone, where they can be entertained for hours, giving you some well-deserved time to yourself.
Spectators can roam the course, watch the obstacles in action, and do all of the above, ALL FOR FREE!

SPECTATORS GO FREE.
Here are our top 3 tips for spectators!
1. TAKE A PICTURE OF THE MAP
As you enter Rough Runner Village, you’ll see a number of giant maps, please take a photo of this.
These will help you find your way around the course, and know where each of the obstacles are, so you can simply choose your route.
We stopped giving out the paper and laminated maps as they simply get thrown away and litter the venues. Not great for the environment.
2. EXPLORE THE VILLAGE
The village area has ample tables and chairs, all facing the epic and legendary Travelator. The final obstacle on the course.
The atmosphere is electric with comperes playing their favorite music tracks and entertaining the audience watching, whilst spurring on those about to run up the Travelator.
2020 also sees a variety of stands and stalls, and not forgetting the Rascals Retreat Zone, new for 2020 which is a zone for kids with a heap of activities, all managed by qualified people.
3. DON’T FORGET…
Rough Runner is an outdoor event. We run the events in all conditions – sun, rain, snow or hail! To make your trip more enjoyable, take notice of the weather and dress accordingly.
Bringing umbrellas (yes we don’t mind!), comfortable shoes or even wellies if you prefer.
Rough Runner is not a fashion parade! We want everyone to be and feel as comfortable as possible and to enjoy themselves.
